Summary
With an economic development mission, the National Chamber Foundation (NCF) was begun in 1967 by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, which, with 3,000 local chambers, is the world's largest business organization.

Several free trade agreements (FTAs) have recently been signed or are being negotiated. Most small- and medium-size enterprises (SMEs) are not equipped to capitalize on these FTAs. NCF will (1) show chambers of commerce & trade associations how FTAs can help SMEs to export by developing an FTA training module and providing training sessions live and via Internet; (2) institutionalize this FTA education infrastructure; (3) prepare select SMEs in six states for trade mission to Latin America; and (4) create a "best practices" white paper and a multi-state FTA trade summit.
