Summary
Founded in 1942, the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) is a federation
of over 800 state and local affiliated associations. Of its 205,000 member companies,
98% are small- and medium-size enterprises (SMEs).
The development of the Mexican middle class, coupled with liberalization in mortgage markets, is creating a huge potential for sales of new homes. To capitalize on this trend, NAHB will: (1) establish a consultative group to promote further liberalization of construction & finance; (2) create major education events and pavilions at the preeminent trade shows in the Americas; (3) lead trade missions; (4) sponsor reverse trade missions to the International Builders Show in the U.S.; and (5) collaborate with ITA, the District Export Councils, and others to mentor SMEs in exporting.
