In late 2003 and 2004, critical Latin American markets such as Brazil, Mexico, and Chile will be deciding between U.S., European, and Japanese DTV standards. ATSC Forum will (1) develop a joint action plan with ITA that includes policy missions and technical briefings, product demonstrations, conferences, and exhibition of U.S. industry technologies, with participation by small- and medium-size enterprises; (2) support U.S. Government bilateral and multilateral discussions on standards; (3) arrange briefings, demonstrations, and advocacy visits; and (4) monitor and report on developments in Latin America on the adoption of DTV standards.
