Summary
The National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) is the largest trade association for manufacturers of electrical products in the United States. NEMA is a standards developing organization.

NEMA will work to ensure "national" treatment for U.S. exports and secure acceptance of North American standards and practices. This would be accomplished by leveraging the Dominican Republic-Central America Free Trade Agreement and combining the effort of NEMA's U.S. and Latin America based staff, U.S. Commercial Service standards attaches, ITA standards liaison, and the National Institutes of Standards and Technology. Methods include: (1) translating standards to Spanish; (2) organizing technical seminars in target markets; (3) one-on-one coaching of small- and medium-size enterprises; and (4) reverse trade missions.
