The Office of Manufacturing is led by the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Manufacturing, Chandra Brown
What We Do:
ITA’s DAS/MFG unit is the government’s lead advocate and ombudsman for U.S manufacturing industries and trade associations, giving them a genuine partner in identifying and capitalizing on global business opportunities. MFG industry teams collect, compile, and disseminate data on U.S. industry (including trade), provide critical advice on domestic and international trade and investment policies affecting the competiveness of U.S. industry, and undertake a program of research and analysis on manufacturing industries.
Based on this analysis and its close working relationship with U.S. industry, MFG develops strategies, policies, and programs to strengthen the competitive position of U.S. industries in the United States and world markets.
