Jack C. McDougle
Deputy Assistant Secretary for
Industry Analysis
Jack McDougle is the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Industry Analysis in Manufacturing Services. Mr. McDougle is the first person appointed to this position within the International Trade Administration at the Department of Commerce. Mr. McDougle focuses on providing key decision makers with analyses and recommendations regarding the impact of domestic and international economic and other policies on U.S. competitiveness. He has more than 15 years public and private sector experience in strategic and scenario planning, finance, project management, policy development and change management.
Before being named to this position, Mr. McDougle worked on the 55th Presidential Inaugural Committee and the Bush-Cheney ’04 campaign. From 2003 – 2004, he served as the Director, Liaison Group for the G8 Summit at the U.S. Department of State. In this role, he was the main point of contact for all of the foreign delegations for logistical and other arrangements. Jack also spent several years in the Office of Strategic Planning at USDA’s Soil Conservation Service
In the private sector, Mr. McDougle spent more than six years at People’s Bank in Bridgeport CT, starting as a financial analyst and working his way up to Vice President of Strategic Management. While there, he worked to implement a first-ever strategic planning effort to support entering new markets along with complex multi-divisional restructuring processes.
Mr. McDougle earned his M.B.A. in strategy and finance at Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts and his B.A. in political science at New England College in Henniker, New Hampshire. He divides his time between New York City and Washington, D.C.
