Time and Attendance Reporting Responsibilities

ITA's Time, Attendance and Leave Liaison is responsible for providing training, guidance on pay entitlement, resolving unusual problems which cannot be addressed by timekeeping T&A Contact Points and interaction with the Department. The following outline describes the duties and responsibilities for time and attendance reporting.

Supervisors will:

Designate and assure training for Time and Attendance (T&A) Clerks and Contact  Points for their office and monitor their work.  Establish adequate office controls to prevent abuse of leave and overtime.  Review and certify their employees time & attendance in the webTA system by noon on Tuesday following the end of the pay period. Review and approve, when necessary, forms CD-529, "Lump Sum Leave or Compensatory Time Payments" and CD-527, "Audit for Leave Year __", for separating employees.

Employees will:

Complete and validate their time and attendance in the webTA system.

Timekeepers will:

Complete form CD527, when necessary, and audit leave error reports received from the National Finance Center.  Maintain office T&A files for 6 years. Report all unusual or unsolvable timekeeping problems to their T&A Contact Point.

Contact Points will:

Provide training and assistance to T&A clerks and alternates. Disseminate information on procedural changes and software updates.  Resolve most timekeeping problems or contact T&A Liaison with unusual problems.
