The
2002 National Export Strategy is based upon a survey
of some 3,200 small and medium-sized exporters that
was conducted for the Trade Promotion Coordinating Committee
by Chemonics International and the Kenan Institute of
Private Enterprise at the University of North Carolina,
Chapel Hill. The researchers surveyed some 3,200 small
and medium-sized manufacturers and wholesalers to determine
which government services exporters use, where they
get them, and whether the services have an impact on
their success as exporters. The survey instrument and
methodology were modeled on an earlier survey, "The
Report Card on Trade," conducted by the Kenan Institute
in 1994.
