Andersen Corp. Receives Export Achievement Award Commerce Under Secretary for International Trade Grant Aldonas and Congressman Mark Kennedy today presented the Andersen Corporation of Bayport, MN, with the Department's Export Achievement Certificate. The award recognizes business clients of the Department's Commercial Service that have used their services to make their first export sale, open new foreign markets, or achieve a significant new export success. "Economic growth and job creation are top priorities of the Bush Administration, and increasing exports is one of the best ways to achieve those goals," Aldonas said. "We will continue to provide the necessary tools to help these and other organizations boost exports that create high-paying jobs for people in Minnesota and across America." Andersen entered the international marketplace in the late 1980's and is now doing business in 30 countries. Andersen has worked with the Commercial Service at the Minneapolis U.S. Export Assistance Center over the years, and recently made a $1million sale to China with the help of export counseling and advocacy provided by Commerce trade specialists. The U.S. Commercial Service is a Commerce Department agency that helps U.S. business sell their products and services globally. The Minneapolis U.S. Export Assistance Center is part of the Agency's worldwide network, which includes 108 Centers throughout the United States and more than 160 international offices.
