Preliminary Determination of Sales at Less Than Fair Value:
Hot-Rolled Steel from Argentina, India, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, the Netherlands, the People's Republic of China, Romania, South Africa, Taiwan, Thailand and the Ukraine

On Tuesday, April 24, 2001, the Department of Commerce announced its preliminary determinations in the above-referenced antidumping duty (AD) investigations. These investigations were initiated on December 4, 2000. The period of investigation for Kazakhstan, the People's Republic of China, Romania, and Ukraine is April 1, 2000 through September 30, 2000. The period of investigation for Argentina, India, Indonesia, the Netherlands, South Africa, Taiwan and Thailand is October 1, 1999, through September 30, 2000. .

If DOC makes an affirmative final determination, the ITC must make a final injury determination within 45 days. If that determination is affirmative, DOC will issue an antidumping duty order.

Product Description

The merchandise subject to these investigations is certain hot-rolled carbon steel flat products. The technical language describing the scope of these investigations will be included in the notice of initiation which will be published in the Federal Register.
