Final Determination of Sales at Less Than Fair Value in
the Antidumping Duty Investigation of Structural Steel Beams from
Japan
On April 18, 2000, the Department of Commerce ("DOC") announced
the final determination in the antidumping ("AD") investigation
on Structural Steel Beams from Japan.
PETITIONERS:
The AD petitions were filed on behalf of the U.S. steel industry
by the following domestic producers and union: Northwestern
Steel & Wire Company, Nucor-Yamato Steel Company, TXI-Chaparral
Steel Co., and the United Steelworkers of America ("AFL-CIO").
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:
The merchandise subject to this investigation is structural steel
beams. The technical language describing the scope of the investigation
will be included in the final determination notice which will be
published in the Federal Register.
CASE CALENDAR:
The following determinations will be made not later than these
statutory deadlines:

Initiation: 27 July 1999
ITC Preliminary Determination: 20 August 1999
DOC Preliminary Determination: 02 February 2000
DOC Final Determination: 14 April 2000
