Final Determinations in the Antidumping Investigations of Pure Magnesium
from Israel, the People's Republic of China, and the Russian Federation

and

Final Determination in the Countervailing Duty Investigation
on Pure Magnesium from Israel

On Monday, September 17, 2001, the Department of Commerce announced its final determinations in the above-referenced antidumping duty (AD) and countervailing duty (CVD) investigations. We have determined that sales of Pure Magnesium from Israel and the People's Republic of China were made at less than fair value, while sales of Pure Magnesium from the Russian Federation were not made at less than fair value. In addition, as a result of our CVD investigation, we found that the sole responding producer from Israel has received countervailable subsidies from the Government of Israel.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

The merchandise subject to this investigation is pure magnesium. The technical language describing the scope of this investigation will be included in the preliminary determination which will be published in the Federal Register.

If DOC makes an affirmative final determination, the ITC must make a final injury determination within 45 days. If that determination is affirmative, DOC will issue an antidumping duty order.
