Antidumping Duty Investigations:
Certain Cold-Rolled Flat-Rolled Carbon-Quality Steel Products from
China, Indonesia, Slovakia, and Taiwan
May 23, 2000
On May 23, 2000, the Department of Commerce ("DOC")
announced the final determinations in the antidumping ("AD") investigations
on Certain Cold-Rolled Flat-Rolled Carbon-Quality Steel Products
("Cold-Rolled Steel") from China, Indonesia, Slovakia, and Taiwan.
These investigations were initiated on June 21, 1999,
along with companion AD and countervailing duty investigations involving
Cold-Rolled Steel from Argentina, Brazil, Japan, the Russian Federation,
South Africa, Thailand, Turkey and Venezuela. The DOC announced
the final determinations of the AD investigations from Argentina,
Brazil, Japan, the Russian Federation, South Africa, and Thailand
on January 19, 2000. The final determinations of the AD investigations
from Turkey and Venezuela were announced on March 14 and March 30,
2000, respectively.
Petitioners:
The AD petitions were filed on behalf of the U.S.
steel industry by the following domestic producers and unions:

The merchandise subject to these investigations are
certain cold-rolled flat-rolled carbon-quality steel products. The
technical language describing the scope of the investigations will
be included in the notice of final determination which will be published
in the Federal Register.
