Investigations: Certain Hot-Rolled Carbon Steel Flat Products from
India, Indonesia, South Africa, and Thailand
On September
24, 2001, the Department of Commerce (the Department) announced
the final determinations in the above-referenced investigations.
Although the original deadline for these determinations was September
17, 2001, in light of the events of September 11, and the subsequent
closure of the Federal Government for reasons of security, the deadline
for issuing these determinations was extended by four days to September
21, 2001. On July 10, 2001, the Department announced the final determinations
in the antidumping duty investigations of hot-rolled steel from
Argentina and South Africa, and the countervailing duty investigation
of hot-rolled steel from Argentina. On August 23, 2001, the International
Trade Commission (ITC) determined that imports from these two countries
injured the U.S. hot-rolled steel industry.
