Finding:
On Tuesday, July 31, 2001, the Department of Commerce announced
its preliminary determination in the antidumping investigation on
folding gift boxes from the People's Republic of China, finding
antidumping duty margins ranging from 14.05 to 164.75 percent.

Background:
On March 12, 2001, we initiated an antidumping duty investigation
on certain folding gift boxes from the People's Republic of China.
Petitioners:
The petition in this investigation was filed by Simkins Industries,
Inc. of Connecticut, and Field Container Company, L.P of Illinois.
Product Description:
The merchandise subject to this investigation is certain folding
gift boxes from the PRC. The technical language describing the scope
of this investigation, including several specific exclusions, is
included in the preliminary determination notice which will be published
in the Federal Register.
