FACT
SHEET
Extension
of Preliminary Determination in the Antidumping Duty Investigation:
Certain Softwood Lumber from Canada
On October
11, 2001, the Department of Commerce (DOC) extended the preliminary
determination in antidumping investigation of softwood lumber from
Canada fifteen days, from October 15, 2001, to Tuesday, October
30, 2001.
Due to the
extraordinarily complex nature of this case, additional time is
necessary to complete our analysis. This investigation is the first
antidumping case involving softwood lumber from Canada. The final
determinations in this and the companion countervailing duty investigation
are aligned and will be due on January 15, 2002, if unextended,
and approximately March 25, 2002, if fully extended.
