Antidumping Duty Investigations:
Certain Cold-Rolled Flat-Rolled Carbon-Quality Steel Products from
China, Indonesia, Slovakia, Taiwan and Turkey

29, 1999
On December 29, 1999, the Department of Commerce ("DOC") announced
the preliminary determinations in the antidumping ("AD") investigations
on Certain Cold-Rolled Flat-Rolled Carbon-Quality Steel Products
("Cold-Rolled Steel") from China, Indonesia, Slovakia, Taiwan and
Turkey.
These investigations were initiated on June 21, 1999, along with
companion AD and countervailing duty investigations involving Cold-Rolled
Steel from Argentina, Brazil, Japan, the Russian Federation, South
Africa, Thailand and Venezuela. The DOC announced the preliminary
determinations in those AD investigations on November 2, 1999.
Petitioners: The AD petitions were filed on behalf of the
U.S. steel industry by the following domestic producers and unions:

Independent Steelworkers
Union Ispat Inland Steel
LTV Steel Company, Inc.
National Steel Corporation
Steel Dynamics, Inc.
U.S. Steel Group (a unit of USX Corporation)

to these investigations are certain cold-rolled flat-rolled carbon-quality
steel products. The technical language describing the scope of the
investigations will be included in the notice of preliminary determination
which will be published in the Federal Register.
