FACT SHEET
Final Determination in the Antidumping Investigation of Floor-Standing, Metal-Top Ironing Tables and Certain Parts Thereof from the People's Republic of China On June 16, the Department of Commerce (the Department) announced its final determination in the antidumping duty investigation on imports of floor-standing, metal-top ironing tables and certain parts thereof (ironing tables) from the People's Republic of China (PRC) . We have found that Chinese producers/exporters made sales in the U.S. market at less than fair value, with margins ranging from 6.60 to 113.80 percent. Next Steps: The U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) is scheduled to announce its final injury determination on or about July 30. If the ITC makes an affirmative determination that imports of ironing tables from the PRC are materially injuring, or threatening to materially injure, the domestic industry in the United States, the Department will issue an antidumping duty order and instruct U.S. Customs and Border Protection to collect cash deposits for antidumping duties. If the ITC makes a negative injury determination, the investigation will be terminated and no order will be issued. Petitioner: The petition requesting this investigation was filed by Home Products International Inc., headquartered in Chicago, Illinois. Product Description: The product covered by this investigation consists of floor-standing, metal-top ironing tables, assembled or unassembled, complete or incomplete, and certain parts thereof. The subject tables are designed and used principally for the hand ironing or pressing of garments or other articles of fabric; they have full-height leg assemblies that support the ironing surface at an appropriate (often adjustable) height above the floor. Ironing tables without legs (such as models that mount on walls or over doors), table-top or counter-top models are specifically excluded. For a complete description of the scope, please see our Notice of Initiation, published in the Federal Register on July 21, 2003. The subject ironing tables were previously classified under Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS) subheading 9403.20.0010. Effective July 2003, subject ironing tables are classified under new HTSUS subheading 9403.20.0011. The subject metal top and leg components are classified under HTSUS subheading 9403.90.8040. While the HTSUS numbers are provided for convenience and customs purposes, the Department's written description of the merchandise under review is dispositive. Final Dumping Margins :
