J. Joseph “Joe” Burgess
J. Joseph "Joe" Burgess joined Insituform Technologies in April 2008 as its President and CEO. In October 2011, Insituform created Aegion Corporation, a holding company for Insituform Technologies and each of the operating companies that were formerly subsidiaries of Insituform (Bayou Companies, Corrpro Companies, United Pipeline Systems, CRTS, Fibrwrap Construction Services and Fyfe Co.). Mr. Burgess currently serves as President and CEO of Aegion Corporation.
Mr. Burgess has over 25 years of experience in the water, energy and petrochemical industries. Prior to joining the Company, he served as Chief Executive Officer of Veolia Water North America, a subsidiary of the French company, Veolia Environnement SA. He worked previously with Ogden Projects (later renamed Covanta), a subsidiary of Ogden Corporation, a diversified holding company, and Monsanto Company, an agricultural biotechnology corporation. Since 2007, under his leadership, the Company's top‐line revenues have grown by 85% and its earnings per share from continuing operations have increased by 228%. This growth can be attributed in large part to the diversification of the Company’s revenue streams and products.
