NAME: National Export Strategy
 
REQUESTOR: Export Enhancement Act of 1992
DUE DATE: Annually on March 30
ADDRESSEES: Senate Banking Committee and House Committee on International Relations

STATUS: The 2006 National Export Strategy will be transmitted to the Congress soon.  Draft letters are in Executive Secretariat for the Secretary's signature, transmitting the annual report to the Chairs and ranking members of the Senate Banking and House International Relations Committees.  The report will then be posted publicly on the internet and distributed in print copy.

NAME: Subsidies Enforcement Report
 
REQUESTOR: Congress
DUE DATE: Annually on February 1
ADDRESSEES: All members of Congress

STATUS:  The upcoming report is due to Congress in February 2007.  The Office of the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) and the Department of Commerce, Import Administration (IA) will continue their close collaboration to monitor and strictly enforce the obligations of the World Trade Organization (WTO) Agreement on Subsidies and Countervailing Measures (Subsidies Agreement) and provide appropriate Congressional notification.

STATUS:   The Office of Import Administration is currently in the process of reviewing information received from the individual foreign-trade zones and following up as appropriate.

STATUS:  As of August 1, 2006, a draft narrative has been submitted to the Department of Commerce Budget Office and final versions of the International Trade Administration metrics and text will be submitted to the Department in September.
