STATUS: The 2006 National Export Strategy will be transmitted
to the Congress soon. Draft letters are in Executive Secretariat for the
Secretary's signature, transmitting the annual report to the Chairs and ranking
members of the Senate Banking and House International Relations
Committees. The report will then be posted publicly on the internet and
distributed in print copy.

STATUS: The upcoming report is due to Congress in
February 2007. The Office of the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) and the
Department of Commerce, Import Administration (IA) will continue their close
collaboration to monitor and strictly enforce the obligations of the World Trade
Organization (WTO) Agreement on Subsidies and Countervailing Measures (Subsidies
Agreement) and provide appropriate Congressional notification.
