Language Courses

ITA offers work related language courses in Spanish and Russian. The courses are taught at the beginning, intermediate and advanced levels. The courses meet twice a week for a 18 week cycle. Courses are set up for no fewer than 3 persons, no more than 7.

Below are some things to know when taking a language course here at DOC:

  • Training will be held in the ITA Language Room H4060.
  • The training will be held between the hours of 8:00 am and 4:30 pm.
  • The classes will meet twice a week for at least 1 hour up to 2 hours.
  • If the class has been scheduled to last 1 hour, the length of the class cannot be extended without authorization/approval of the training coordinator.
  • The classes will be scheduled to last for a period of 14-18 weeks.
  • The minimum class size is 3, and the maximum is 7.
  • No more than 6 absences and no more than 2 in a row will be permitted during the training. Mitigating circumstances will be addressed on an individual basis.
  • Participants are responsible for the cost of their textbook(s).
  • If you decide to discontinue the class, you will be required to pay your proportionate share of the total cost of the training.
  • The ITA registration document must be completed and the memorandum of understanding (MOU) signed before the beginning of the training.
  • Once a class has ended, a new MOU has to be signed before additional classes can be started.
