By law, when an employee works on a holiday, the employee MUST be
compensated with premium pay (at a rate equal to his or her basic rate).
This is accomplished by recording transaction code (TC) 66,
Federal Holiday leave, for the actual holiday and TC 31 for the holiday
worked. In some cases where employees are at or near the biweekly
salary cap and can NOT be compensated for the holiday worked (via TC 31)
because of the cap, timekeepers have been recording credit hours in lieu
of holiday worked.
Credit Hours cannot be given if employee is on a compressed work schedule.
