II Major Duties and Responsibilities
Assists specialists by providing direct program and operational support in a variety of areas. Typically the employee researches and assembles information requiring understanding of the program area involved; reviews updates and maintains program area operating data bases; provides operational management assistance by preparing, distributing and tracking progress of documents and action items; and works with senior specialist to plan, coordinate and support a wide range of organizational and program related activities.

The supervisor provides general instructions and guidance on tasks which operate within established guides and precedents, with more detailed direction provided on unusual assignments. The employee fulfills routine responsibilities independently, using initiative to make minor procedural or other deviations as circumstances warrant. Difficult or atypical problems are referred to the supervisor, and completed work is reviewed for adequacy and timeliness.
