ITA Honor Awards Program
       
Bronze Medal Award  

Highest honorary award granted by the Under Secretary of ITA.  Awarded to employees who have demonstrated both excellence in individual, organizational or group achievement and effective cooperation with others in the furtherance of ITA goals.  Nominations are made by supervisors. Please note that any of ITA's endorsed nominations by the Under Secretary to the Department that do not win a Gold or Silver Medal will automatically receive an ITA Bronze Medal for Distinguished Performance.

Only one Bronze Medal may be awarded in each of the following categories:

  • Outstanding Supervisor or Manager
  • Outstanding Program Professional
  • Outstanding Administrative Professional
  • Outstanding Support Professional
  • Outstanding LES Program Professional
  • Outstanding LES Administrative and Support Professional
  • Outstanding Group (2 or more individuals)

Timothy J. Hauser Award

(Monetary)

Recognizes extraordinary performance that brings singular distinction to the career service and the International Trade Administration. The recipient of this award will be selected from nominations submitted for the ITA Bronze Medal Award, so no separate nomination for this award is required.  All employees except SES,
Presidential Appointees, and Schedule C. Nominees must have a minimum of one year of service with ITA at the time of the nomination and have a “Level 3 (or equivalent) rating.

Memorial Awards

 

-Kaminski Award –Awarded to employee who, in the last fiscal year, has exercised the greatest degree of diplomatic skill and ability in furthering trade relations with one or more of America’s trading partners.
-Meissner Award -Awarded to ITA work unit that during the previous year best exemplified the ideals of dedication to excellence, selfless commitment to duty, and cooperation with others.
-Morton Award - Awarded to an ITA employee who, during the past year, has made the strongest contribution to increasing opportunities, within ITA or in the U.S. international trading community, for members of historically disadvantaged groups.
-Payne Award -Awarded to ITA employee who, during the previous year, did the most to create and facilitate cooperative efforts between the public and private sectors to promote international trade.
-Warbasse Award - Awarded to the most outstanding new ITA employee exemplifying the ideals of excellence, dedication, and achievement.
For all Memorial Awards: Nominations may be made by any ITA employee and endorsed by nominee's supervisor.

Any work unit

Warbase Award:
Any permanent or term employee with at least one, but no more than three years of services with ITA on September 30

Quarterly Stars Award 

(Monetary)

Recognizes employees who have made significant contributions to ITA programs and have demonstrated exceptional and sustained effort toward the accomplishment of ITA's mission.
Nominations may be made by any ITA employee and endorsed by nominee's supervisor.

On-The-Spot Award Recognizes employees for their day-to-day efforts that contribute in a special way to getting the job done. Under this on-line gift certificate awards program, supervisors may give immediate recognition to recognize and reward employee excellence.

Time Off

 

 

An excused absence granted to an employee without charge to leave or loss of pay.  Amount granted in proportion to the employee's accomplishment; may not exceed 80 hours in a leave year for a full-time employee.  Office directors can approve up to 24 hours and DAS's can approve up to 40 hours.
