Timothy P. Smucker is
Chairman & Co-CEO of The J.M. Smucker Company, makers of jams, jellies, ice
cream toppings, juices, and other food products. He is the great-grandson of
J.M. (Jerome Monroe) Smucker, who founded the company bearing his name in
Orrville, Ohio in 1897. The Company’s headquarters are still located in
Orrville.
After graduating from The
College of Wooster in 1967 with a Bachelor's degree in Economics, Tim graduated
from the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Commerce & Finance
with an M.B.A. in Marketing in 1969. He then joined the Company on a full-time
basis, working first on the Marketing Staff.
In addition to serving on
the Board of Directors of the Smucker Company, Tim is a member of the Board of
Huntington BancShares, Incorporated, Dreyer's Grand Ice Cream, Inc., and
Grocery Manufacturers of America, Inc. He is the immediate past Chairman of the
Ohio Business Roundtable as well as the immediate past Chairman of the Uniform
Code Council. He is currently a member of the Board of Governors of the Uniform
Code council and is co-Chairman of their Global Policy Committee. Tim is also
on the Board of Trustees of The College of Wooster and is a member of the Steering
Committee of Heartland Education Community, Inc., an Orrville community
education reform effort.
He is married to the former
Jennifer Coddington and they have three grown children and one grandson.
